Hello AEA Members, Students, Parents, and Andover Community Members, The extraordinary current context and crisis has put immense pressure on our civic institutions including public education. The Andover Warriors for Education (AWE), a coalition that formed in February to give the community and educators a forum and an enhanced voice to improve Andover Public Schools, proposes that now is not the time to delay our work and outreach. Educators, Community Rally at South School and Court ruling describes Andover school officials’ actions as ‘troubling’
Rally for South School On a frozen Wednesday before the holiday recess, over 130 AEA members, fellow MTA local leaders, parents, community members, and former students rallied at South School in solidarity and support of the faculty. At the close of the contractual day, the South teachers walked out of school (several arm-in-arm) to a roaring crowd shouting "STAND WITH SOUTH!" Hello AEA Members, The General Meeting this week on Thursday, October 10th- 3:50-5:00 PM at West Middle School Auditorium will be a terrific opportunity to see and hear from each other, across all levels and all units, and as one democratic body. Hello AEA Members, Every year I come back to the classroom after our break, I look forward to getting to know new students and colleagues, seeing old friends, and improving my craft.
